It's all about kindness...

A few months ago Gavin had an assignment to write an essay nominating someone who he thought was the Kindest Kansas Citian.

Someone that is kind and caring...

Someone that has made a difference in his life...

I sat down with him and we talked about who (and what) he would write about.

Without much thought he was confident of his choice.

She is kind and caring...

And she has made a difference...

He wrote his essay, turned in his assignment and a few weeks later found out that his essay was chosen out of all the Kindergarten students.

This meant that he would invite his nominee to a Kindest Kansas Citian assembly and read his essay in front of the school.

It was exciting to win, although the thought of it was also made him nervous.

So, Tuesday was the big day...

(notice his nervous stretch.)

He ended up being so nervous that he decided to have the school counselor read his essay for him.

And the winner is...... Andrea Shelton!

And his essay went a little something like this...

"I think Andrea Shelton is the Kindest Kansas Citian because she loves me and teaches me about God."

Oh, doesn't that just melt your heart....?

Andrea is one of Gavin's Children's Church teachers.

She is so fun and does a wonderful job.

Gavin's got it right...

Andrea is great!

The Kindest Kansas Citian in our eyes for sure!
